DTI Online Coursework

Our Online CNA Program is designed for busy adults who want the freedom to learn on their own schedule—without compromising on quality.

The course is completed at your own pace and includes 75 total program hours, combining online learning with just four flexible days for in-person sessions:

📘 43 Hours of lecture – Completed online at your own pace

🧪 16 Hours of lab work – Completed in-person at our on-site simulation lab

🏥 16 Hours of clinicals – Completed in-person at a partnered long-term care facility

Start your class as soon as you enroll and most students finish in just 10 business days. Once you complete the program, you’ll be eligible to take the Michigan State Certified Nurse Aide Exam.

DTI In-Seat Coursework

The Nurse Aide Training course sessions are held 5 days a week for 2 weeks, for a total of 75 program hours. Classes are held Monday through Friday 9:00am – 4:30pm.

The program hours are distributed in the following proportions:

43 Hours of lecture – Taught at onsite simulated lab

16 Hours of lab work – Taught at onsite simulated lab

16 Hours of clinicals – Taught at our affiliated long-term care facility

After successful completion of the course students are eligible to take the Michigan State Certified Nurse Aide Exam.

Is the program virtual or in-classroom?

The 75 hour On-Line Nurse Aide training program at Davis Training Institute lecture/theory portion, including all testing is online, you can work at your own pace on your own time. The interactive program covers all State of Michigan Requirements needed to complete the program in order to get you qualified for state testing. The rest of the course will be scheduled in-person skills training at 5151 Hampton Place, MI 48604, as well as 16 hours at a long-term care facility clinical site.

Can I get Instructor assistance if I do the online program?

Absolutely! Course instructors as well as administration will be available to assist you

throughout the course.

How long is the program?

The full program requirement for the state of Michigan is 75 hours total. Each session is set for 4 weeks however you may work on the online portion at your own pace as long as it is completed prior to in-person skills. The onsite in-person skills and clinical hours will be

scheduled.

Are scrubs needed?

Scrubs of any color and tennis shoes are needed for the skills portion of the state certification test as well as for the clinical days at a long term care facility.

What happens after I complete the course?

The CNA training program prepares students for Michigan’s state-regulated CNA certification exam. Davis Training Institute is an affiliated testing site with Head Master, meaning students can take their CNA skills exam right here at the facility, eliminating the need to travel to another location. There is also a knowledge portion to the CNA certification test consisting of 65 multiple choice questions that can be scheduled and completed remotely on your own computer at your own convenient time.

The fee for State testing is $175 which is not included in the tuition.

How do I register for the Michigan State CNA Registry?

Once you pass both knowledge and skills exams for state testing, you need to make an account on MiLogin for Business. Once that is completed you must request an account for MI-NATES. There is a $40 fee when placed on the registry. All CNA certification renewals are completed through MI-NATES. Renewal is every 2 years.

Are there any qualifications needed in order to take the course?

Must be the minimum age of 17 years old. Proof of Negative TB test prior to starting clinicals. A clear background check and internet access.
